While taking professional classical ballet classes as an adult and reflecting on my childhood ballet classes, I realized that not only is the ballet an expressive art form, but it is also very good exercise. I became addicted! In one of those classes I met Lynn Parkerson, who wanted to present a baroque piece by her newly formed Brooklyn Ballet. We had been introduced as both lovers of baroque ballet which formed the basis of the classical repertoire we know today. Given my prior experience in costume, Lynn asked if I could suggest a designer for her project. As I thought about who I might suggest, I decided it was a perfect fit for me! Lynn and I worked on several ballets together. I salute the impressive work she continues to do, especially training young dancers of the Brooklyn community.
